Good Tuesday afternoon. I started doing a 16/8 food management program (or your fasting program)over a year ago. The only interruption was over Christmas while I was away for two weeks. Eating alone helps to keep this possible. My weight has stabilized at this point but the more positive result has been no heartburn (no Tums) , better sleep and more energy.

I can do the 16:8 fairly well and consistently through the week. Once or twice a week I lengthen the fast or only eat one meal. I don’t really notice a difference in the way I feel fasting. I just know it’s better for me. I also feel hungry often. I am losing weight through fasting and a lower carb diet.

Work hours vary making a regular meal schedule impossible. Somedays 11:00 to 5:00 works. Others 9:00 to 3:00 or 1:00 to 7:00. That creates varying fasting lengths. Will that still provide benefits?

Yep. One of the benefits of Intermittent Fasting is the time spent not putting more food into your gut. This gives your gut a chance to heal, rest and recover.

Finally, some sanity. Now we only have 49 states to go….

Absolutely! All mandates need to be dropped immediately. However, that is only the first step. The much, much more important next step is making sure this never is allowed to happen again. This is beyond crucial. We need ironclad laws passed in the federal and state legislatures to prevent future abuses of fictitious powers. As it stands now, there is absolutely nothing in place from preventing them from doing this all over again, whenever it suits them(and it will).

I’m glad you just stuck to the medical stuff. Ha Ha. I’ve been doing the 16/8 fast for a couple months now. It works well for me. I don’t miss breakfast at all. I do it 7 days a week and what a difference how I feel. I’m definitely up for a challenge so I will try and stretch my fast. Good luck everyone and stick with it.

I've been fasting 16 hours @5-6 days/week. I've been doing great and there are occasional moments when I feel very hungry; but overall, it's very manageable.

Dr. I typically fast from 12pm till 7am. Has your experience showed more benefits doing an early fast vs a late fast or the opposite? I use to eat between 11am-3pm. Coffee would get me through that first part of the morning. Once I quit the coffee I switched my eating schedule to the early 7-11/12.

That will always be a debate point.

My belief is that we should eat during daylight and not when it is dark.

Question is when would we have hunted and gathered the food?

Morning or afternoon and then preparation etc???

In the USA, we tend to eat a bigger later meal- dinner.

If it became socially the norm, I would prefer the European way of a bigger mid-day meal.

Fasting 16 hours, for me, is too drastic a change. I am able to do 11am to 8pm to break fasting. Sorry.

That’s why we call it a challenge. You are doing a 15:9 fast. That’s a great start. Lengthen the fast when you are ready.

Dr. Steven’s posts seem to emphasise the importance of individual health choices. I don’t see where he writes anything against personal freedom. Am I missing something in his message?

Thanks for the comment. As I always say, I neither want nor expect people to agree with me. All I ask is we are all open to amicably discuss and debate and remain amicable and able to work together towards improved health.

My best to the lovey Rose.
