I do know people who eat fake meat. Some think it is healthier. Others are animal rights advocates. Either way, I am not defending the choice. Just sharing.

I guess I’m in the minority here. I am a 34 year vegetarian who eats meat alternatives all the time. I have no problem with them, although I realize they are heavily processed. I gave up meat not for health reasons but for animal rights reasons. I don’t care that the meat substitute taste like meat, it’s not meat so why does it matter? Having said all of this, I guess I’ll be unsubscribing. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Any people that I’ve known who are life long/long term vegetarian/vegan, do NOT use meat substitute products. They have always given me the same reason. Basically, “Why would I eat a meat simulation product, when I do not like the taste/texture of meat.”

Responding to your request for an answer as to why people who don't like to eat meat would want to eat meat-flavored alternatives:

Maybe all the guilt and shame they feel from savoring the meaty flavor so much just secretly thrills them in a way vegetables never could, i.e. maybe they're simply meat-appropriating perverts?

They're taking in a ton of soy, so their estrogen is gonna be through the roof, and ya can't expect sound decision-making with severe hormone imbalances..

They probably bought it as a health food initially, and then by the time that they would've normally realized it's not actually healthy for them, it was too late since their emotions were already calling the shots on their diet and everything else.
