I did great with the low carb and intermittent fasting..I lost about 8 lbs. in a month..I am roughly estimating this weight loss, I did not start weighing myself until March 9th. .. I was able to do a 1 day /24 hour fasting...I just drank water , but I had lots of energy..got lots of errands done..the hardest part with the low carb is going out to lunch or dinner socially, I usually will go off the low carb and eat whatever, but the next day get right back to watching my carb intake and following the intermittent window. I did light exercise while on the program and I am eating much healthier..looking forward to April's program, and I plan on incorporating more exercise during the month of April.

Let me start off by saying that both the low carb and fasting challenges have been very good for me. I was actually about a month or two ahead of the official start of them. I started low carb to lose weight. That really kicked in when I started the fasting along with it. My goal was to get off BP meds. My goal was reached and holding steady. But along with that I just feel way better now. I sleep well and have more energy. My joints don’t ache like they used to. So no more Motrin or Advil. The easiest part for me was getting started. The hardest part has been this last week with cravings for carbs. I don’t know why. I’ll get over it. When I do cheat my gut let’s me know it. And the longest I have fasted is 18 hours. Looking forward to the next challenge.

hard parts of IF for me: meds/supps that upset stomach without food, utter lack of appetite leading to inadequate energy intake, and inadequate electrolyte intake (since I use an unflavored blend as seasoning for my food in order to not have to drink it all al the time). I do not need to lose any weight though, and have been keto for many years, so a more regimented IF is perhaps not required for me - especially since I naturally fall into a 2 meals a day routine as it is. The number of hours between last and first meals just isn't always 16/18/etc hours.

Came across this. Looks like a mentally healthy way to look at intermittent fasting….

Fasting was fine. introducing alcohol on weekends made it harder. Appetite was reduced and never really had too hard of a time (on weekdays). It definitely simplified the morning routine. The hardest part was kids sports schedules and work. You we're either eating something very fast right after work before practice or vastly expanded the eating window.
