Wow you have a ton of willpower! I’m not quite there yet, but I’m hoping I will get there soon. My office sent me a ton of food from Panera today (for the family) because I’m back in the hospital tomorrow but will be home Wednesday. I did eat the chicken from a sandwich. I didn’t eat the bread but who knows the quality of that chicken. I’m afraid to ask. I also ate a small salad. Again, don’t ask about the dressing. So I did not have a good day. I plan to fast tomorrow and Wednesday until I get home.
I’m so encouraged with all of you and the discipline you have to make good food choices! It’s tempting to eat the array of foods especially when it’s in front of you.
My choices are focused on whole foods rather than processed and low carb as I’m balancing food groups and sodium with ckd and other issues. Also, I’ve added strength training with bands.
I’ve lost the bloat and am more energetic - hoping to minimize inflammation to better absorb nutrients.
Eating basically two meals a day, when I start to have hunger is working very well too. I’m eating slowly to get the signal of satiety before over eating.
I may not always respond yet read and truly appreciate the dialogue with food.
Gale, it’s amazing that your challenges aren’t stopping you from maintaining good choices.
Because most of my family eats less than desirable food, we (my husband and I) usually bring our own food to family gatherings unless we know they will have something like 100% beef burgers. I don’t mind at all bringing my own.
If we go to a restaurant, I always call ahead to find out what oils they cook with and if they will substitute with butter or the meat’s own fat. If not, I just go and drink water and enjoy the conversation. My husband will eat out and have something with seed oils occasionally, but I am trying really hard to heal, so I try not to eat them at all. Luckily I have been doing this long enough that I rarely get cravings.
We went to a wedding a few weeks ago and on the RSVP under “Food accommodations” I put ours (I don’t think I used the word carnivore, but my aunt who spoke with them must have told them that) and they were kind enough to accommodate our request. As they were bringing out the food to each table, they got to ours and yelled the length of the table “Are there any carnivores here?” 😂🤣 It got really quiet as everyone just stopped and looked at us, but then no one even said a word. lol!
Weekend went well. Had a small midday meal on Saturday (buffalo chicken dip and pork rinds). Wasn’t hungry for dinner so skipped. Sunday was a 3 egg omelette and pork chops for dinner.
I’ve been hungrier than usual but always have carnivore friendly things around. Usually a small taste of something keeps me going until dinner.
The more strict I am the easier it is to stick with the program.
I am feeling less hungry and because I haven’t bought temptation into my home it’s much easier for me. I am losing fat around my midsection and I feel more energetic. I’ve been out to eat and ordered plain baked wings.
I talk politics so I immediately am asked to leave, therefore not having to fight with the food 😀

My cousin invited me over for pasta and meatballs which I love and I declined. So my discipline kicked in too😊
