We nixed the carbs about six days ago and already feel 70-80% better on the daily. The transition into keto does require some effort but it's nearly all on the planning your meals side. I'd say after a week those constant feelings of hunger and always thinking about your next meal start to disappear. In our house we call it "keto-brain" vs "carb-brain". For us, keto naturally decreases appetite so you spend less time thinking about food and more time getting things done. You get things done because your energy levels increase. Instead of feeling sluggish you find you have an adequate and nearly endless supply of energy to do what you need to do. Tasks that you would often put off start to get done merely because you just flat out feel better. In our experience I will say that these improvements grow the longer you're on keto! Even when you hit plateaus (assuming your goal is weight loss) they are easier to endure and make adjustments because you.....feel.....good....all....the....time! That's our experience anyway.
That chicken sausage with peppers and onions looks really yummy!!!
I have been really watching my carbs for over two weeks now and truthfully I have to force myself to eat sometimes because I just don’t really have an appetite! Cutting those carbs down really helps😃
I'm in. Just returned from a week in Fort Lauderdale, 70 degrees I might add, and although I ate better than on many other vacations, there were way too many carbs. So even in warmer weather my joints were starting to ache, and I was frequently bloated. I am charging my biosense, and looking forward to the good feelings Scott C has been achieving. Happy "Carbing" everyone!
Ready for the challenge. I'm two weeks into retirement and I really have no excuse not to get my diet and exercise right. I tried low carb once. Had a headache and did not stick with it. More recently, have had success with IF but put the weight back on. So this time, going to try a combo of IF and low carb.
Hey Doc, I’m definitely in. I’ve been low carbbing for about a month now. At least 5 out of 7 days. I’m excited to see what meals other people prepare. I tend to get bored with what I prepare and then slip. Good luck everyone!

My blood ketones were higher today at 2.1 then they have been for a long time.

I find mushrooms and cauliflower as two of the most versatile foods for low carb.
