I don’t believe many people are “under-fueled”. It’s much more nuanced than that. Most people have plenty of excess fuel storage. It’s accessing the fuel when needed that is more the issue. Much of that access is regulated hormonally and insulin/glucagon play a part in whether the fuel can be accessed.
If people get into a metabolic state where their fuel can be more easily and regularly accessed then there would be no “under fueled” issue.
It’s like having a fully charged spare battery for your car but not knowing how to connect it.
That’s why I added “Depending on duration and intensity”. There is obviously a large spectrum to “exercise”. For most people, proper fuelling is not an issue. It’s not unusual to see people gulping junk sports drinks at the gym, whilst they putter along at a slow walk pace on the treadmill. In this example, under fuelling is certainly not an issue. On the other far end of the spectrum, where there is a much longer duration, and even more importantly, a very high intensity, fuelling is absolutely important to maximise performance. Fat metabolism works, but is not fast enough in these situations. Again, this “under fuelling” issue does not apply in most situations.
Eggs raise your cholesterol & should be eaten only occasionally ....not true!
Eggs are an excellent source of protein & are very healthy to consume. But since the price of eggs has purposefully been driven sky-high you need to start keeping your own chickens!
Everything is black and white, good for you, or bad for you.
Yes, there is actually more nuance to most things…
-Fasting can make you weak, depending on the duration, and energy expenditures.
-Depending on the duration and intensity of a workout, going in under fuelled can be detrimental to your performance.
-Breakfast is actually important, but it doesn’t have to happen the moment you wake up.

The sun is bad for you and you should slather on sunscreen any time you will be outside.
