This is the opposite of what the Institute for Medical Wellness (IMW) stands for.
A physician’s job should be to empower people to build the knowledge base necessary to learn how to become and remain healthy with LESS involvement from the healthcare system.
Physicians should be protesting about the state of healthcare today.
But just like their atrocious handwriting, doctors do not seem to understand what they should be protesting.
So instead, lets do an end around.
We don’t need to protest.
We just need to take responsibility for our own health and learn as much as possible about how to improve it.
Let’s make 2024 the year where YOU take control of your health, where YOU put the effort into healing your body, not with as much of #BigHarma treatments, but more learning how to treat your body so it will thrive, with less traditional healthcare intervention needed. Consider utilizing doctors and other healthcare professionals as consultants, to help you diagnose and think through treatment options that YOU get to decide upon. Take the healthcare professionals off the bully pulpit, off the podium, and instead make them a teammate in your health and wellness journey. It is a different relationship than we have now, but this change is needed, for all but emergency level care.
Warning- Do not stop your #BigHarma treatments. First learn what you can do to improve your health so you can reduce #BigHarma treatments safely.
BTW- at the IMW, we don’t treat patients. We teach individual IMW members who have decided to improve their health by helping them get a better understanding of their health issues, learning about root causes of their health issues and encouraging safe changes to improve.
So is there a little work involved?
Yes!
Is it worth it?
I certainly believe it is.
Why?
I believe true healthcare is about problem solving, not masking problems and letting them fester.
One of my goals of 2024 was to use the word “fester” in a post. So one goal of 2024 now complete 😎
I believe we need big changes in healthcare where the focus should be on individual empowerment with a team approach to true root cause problem solving.

I’m a nurse. I went to a meeting in a big auditorium in hospital for employees and this is what the nursing supervisor said..... “Cancer is our biggest money maker”. And that’s what a hospital is, it’s a business. There are good people there, but those in charge are only looking at the bottom line.
Yes, Yes, Yes!! I’ve felt this way for years and so avoid the allopaths office as much as I can. I’ve been working with a naturopath for the last ten years with better health and wellness than before. I’m 65, and feel better now than in my forties. Medicine has become purely a “how much can I make” business model not a “how best can I help this person” model. It’s sad that so many people are still buying the “better health through chemistry and surgery” method of medicine.
This was great! I'm now reading "Lies My Doctor Told Me" by Dr. Ken Berry. I think you may be a kindred spirt with him :-)
Love these emails.
Thanks very much...
Ok, Uncle Fester. Yes, I am ready to improve my health in 2024 and beyond, say. Signed Chief Sitting Round Face and Bull.
