My plan on a Wet Wednesday was to Fast for 24 hours. I’ve been eating a bit more over the past few weeks so I needed a reset. A short Fast fit the bill.
My plan.
I would eat dinner Tuesday night then not eat til dinner Wednesday night.
I had it all planned out.
Keep myself busy running around in the morning. Schedule a dental checkup for 2pm. With a dental appointment at 2pm I had a few choices.
A- Not eat prior so my teeth would not be all messy
Or
B- Eat something very very garlicky just to annoy the dentist.
Well, since it happened to be my Fasting day, Dr. Dentist lucked out.
So another question is always:
What do I break a Fast with?
Well, I thought I would be cooking for me and my daughter for dinner, so I had a T-Bone and a Ribeye defrosting overnight Tuesday. My wife was eating something else. Only to find out my daughter made other dinner plans. So now I had 2 steaks defrosted. I don’t like thawing then refreezing meat so I had to cook both. Plans were to eat one and either have the other Thursday night or make steak and eggs Thursday night.
Well, the best laid plans don’t always work out.
Here is why.
The steak on the left is a grass fed ribeye from Whole Paycheck.
The steak on the right is a T-Bone from the Burlington County Farmers Market. It also has some buttered onions on top.
I guess in the comments section let me know whether you prefer your steak naked or with buttered onions.
But now the problem is that I have to cook another steak on Thursday night because…..
You may or may not believe this….
I mean I am NOT a large person….
But I do have a decent appetite…..
Well…..
Somehow…..
I finished both steaks for dinner.
Nothing on the side other than the buttered onions.
They, plural, were both #Delicious.
Soooo…..
The best laid plans don’t always happen…
Butt, and there are always butts in Common Sense Health and Wellness, I don’t care. Those steaks were delicious and they were the only meal I had all day.
So my diet today was:
#LowCarb
#Keto
#Carnivorish
and I used # Intermittent Fasting
So lesson learned.
You can eat a very healthy and nutritious diet and actually write about in a health and wellness post.
Now I ask you, when you have a steak, do you prefer it naked, with buttered onions, or something else topping the steak?
Let me know in the comments below.
I like lots of salt, pepper, garlic and butter on my steak.
I buy Argentina steaks from Wild Fork. I dry age them for a day, then just add alittl1e salt and grill them.
