Sooooo……………..
I am human just like all of you. I am sure many of you weren’t so sure of that. But I am.
My February Low Carb challenge was successful in getting me back on track but not necessarily in losing the few extra pounds I wanted to take off. It is all my fault. Well I could throw my daughter under the bus for bringing in to the house all of her Gluten Free cookies etc. But I don’t like to blame others when I should be able to have self control. So while I did not lose weight I did not gain weight either.
Soooooo………………… I was at a standstill.
That is why the March 2022 Intermittent Fasting #IMWChallenge is a great addition to build on the February 2022 Lower Carbohydrate #IMWChallenge.
3 days ago I actually was 1/2 pound higher than when I started the challenge in February. So I decided a few days ago to jump start my progress by doing a 24 hour fast. This occurred on Tuesday and it was easier than I expected. Now I have done 24 hour fasts before so perhaps my body is accustomed to it. But I did it to get my fasting groove back.
So here is how I woke up this morning.
The scale is down 2.4 lbs in 2 days which is my lowest in 3 months. My goal is another 2 lbs. We shall see if that happens
My sleep the past few days while doing better with the Intermittent Fasting has improved and I feel more refreshed in the morning.
My head is very clear.
My gut feels well balanced.
My energy level is high
My hunger and cravings are almost gone
Here is something else you may find interesting.
When I fast and only have one meal for the day I do not need to be quite as low carb as when I eat more than one meal a day. In other words when I had my Tuesday one meal I had a few gluten free cookies for the crunch at the end of the meal. The meal was low carb but probably not keto. But I still woke up the next day with all of the above bullet points.
So the point of this post is to find your own personal balance or equilibrium. You want to get to your own optimal weight whether that be lower or higher than you presently are. You want your hunger and cravings to be under control. You want your gut and brain to be optimized. You want your sleep to be refreshing. Most important you want your new diet to be a SUSTAINABLE lifestyle based on reality not wishes.
Hope for change does not really work when changing diet/lifestyles.
Planning to succeed is a better way.
And that my readers is one of the main points of the #IMWChallenge.

Now for some quotes I find helpful when thinking thru all that is occurring in the world today.
"Never ruin an apology with an excuse." -Benjamin Franklin
“Do not count your chickens before they are hatched." -Aesop
“Oh what a tangled web we weave, when first we practice to deceive” – Sir Walter Scott
“There is nothing permanent except change.” - Not sure who said this
“You can never put your foot into the same river twice.
The river is always changing as it is always flowing.” - Not sure who said this

Aside from not eating obvious poison, there is no eating plan that fits everyone. Nor is there an eating plan that fits at different stages of life. That being said, what works for me that keeps my BMI at around 23, keeps my energy up and my head clear is to be as close to 90% unprocessed as possible. Unprocessed is NOT being a raw foodist. For me cooking is fine. But if it has a label then it is processed. For me this is incredibly easy to maintain along with a 12/12 intermittent fasting schedule. Thanks for the thoughtful posts.
