I generally have a snack when I get home from work. Which is within my eating time. My favorite is beef jerky. I make my own so I control the ingredients. Very satisfying for a snack.
I myself find it easier not to snack while Intermittent Fasting. I agree with the fat intake comment by Steve. Hobbies and books have been my snacks lately.
I have revisited some older books that my Professor (a retired architect from Philadelphia) recommended reading on "question everything". I initially read the books in haste for class. I realize now what he meant on keeping your mind open. This are interesting reads while fasting, they are not about food but are food for thought:
Once again, I am the weirdo who doesn’t snack, or at least not very frequently. I am happy to have a pretty busy life. I am not good at sitting idle. When I have down time I walk, play cello, knit, read, garden in season, etc. Either I am just not thinking about eating because I am busy or my hands are otherwise occupied.
I find that the urge to snack can be related to meals that are too low in fat. Increase quality fat intake, feel full longer.
A caloric deficit that it too large, can also lead to feeling “snackish”. I find that not exceeding a 500kcal daily maximum deficit is a good general guideline.

I'm personally a huge fan of the pork loin.
I like snacking on Chomps Beef Sticks and a handful of macadamia and Pili nuts
Another good one. Thank you. It's crazy to think how some snacks can bring your mood up... I've been experimenting with them these last couple weeks.
