Perspectives matter in health.
I like looking at things from different perspectives as that is how I learn and improve my skills and become more well rounded.
If I showed you this:
What would you think this means?
If then I showed you this:
Would that make you take a second look?

Now if I show you this, does it make more sense?
If you don’t follow @biohackhub yet on Instagram, you should. They put out good quality teaching pics on nutrition and lifestyle. I often share their pics as there is no reason to reinvent the wheel and I give credit where credit is due.
Look closely at many of the benefits of fasting.
Most of us could improve our health with the correct fasting regimen.
That is going to be the focus of the March 2022 #IMWChallenge
Why fasting?
We live in an excess society especially as it relates to food which is sometimes referred to as Overnutrition. Our body though is not used to overnutrition but instead more to famines or undernutrition. So through the ages when food was scarce humans have developed very successful weight gaining mechanisms to protect from whenever the next famine would occur. If no food was around for a week, humans would just burn their fat stores for energy. Think about it. If humans died if they did not eat for 24 hours I don’t think there would be over 7 billion people on the planet.
Problem though is that in the 21st century we don’t have true famines, other than perhaps politically induced famines which is definitely not the topic for today or hopefully ever on Common Sense Health and Wellness. But we certainly do have overnutrition in this country.
Why do I bring up excess and overnutrition?
Well. chronic excess of most things, including food/nutrition causes inflammation which speeds up our aging process. So if you want to age fast keep that inflammation trucking. If you would like to age slower, then perhaps consider food and nutrition from a newer balanced perspective.
There goes that word perspective again. That word always makes me think. How about you?
We will be much healthier if we avoid both excess and deficiencies and find that proper balance for each individual. Finding that balance is a big part of what we do at the IMW.
Since we have much more excess than deficiency we need a method to safely lessen the excess. Fasting protocols help greatly.
Best reading if you want more info before the March 2022 #IMWChallenge is anything from Dr. Jason Fung but I'd suggest starting with the following book.
BTW- Intermittent Fasting may sound daunting but it is actually refreshing and stress reducing. But if you have never tried it, before you do, lower your carbohydrates for at least a week prior. It makes fasting so so much easier.
I just read this today and it is disturbing about our young children and COVID.
I have not verified this so if anyone has any info about it being true or false please let me know.
Meme of the Day:
Thank you to everyone who replied to my question about how often you like to see posts on this blog/substack Common Sense Health and Wellness.
I’ve used all your answers and came up with a solution.
To everyone who likes daily posts, no worries, I will do my best, no pressure. Luckily my ADD mind is always active.
To everyone who wants less frequent posts I set your subscription to see every third post instead of every post. I hope that works for you.
Fasting is the only way I've ever successfully lost weight. Looking forward to March
Interested in intermittent fasting with a weight maintenance slant if that can be addressed. Not a popular topic. Previous attempts not successful in that regard.
