Have you been reading and following the COVID numbers?
I have. It appears that COVID cases in 2021 are higher than 2020 and on an upward trajectory. Cases do not necessarily track with hospitalizations and deaths, but if cases rise high enough, the rest will follow.
Why could this be happening?
We have been vaccinating the majority of our adult and young adult population in 2021. We did not have COVID vaccines in 2020 yet numbers are still rising in waves.
Most college campuses are highly vaccinated yet they are still having COVID outbreaks. How can we blame outbreaks on the so few unvaccinated, especially if they are not sick?
If COVID vaccinations work to decrease infections as well as lower transmission rate we would be seeing this in the data. Unfortunately we do not. It may lower COVID deaths and perhaps the numbers would be worse if we did not vaccinate? Those are possibilities. If you want a COVID vaccine, do your due diligence, look for the risks and benefits, get informed consent, and get vaccinated. It is your body and should be your choice.
But instead of being a medical decision COVID vaccination has somehow become a polarizing political topic that is breaking up friends and family which should never happen. COVID can harm anyone regardless of religion or politics. It's a virus and does not care what you think about it.
Instead, I want to move what seems to be the central political focus from vaccines to the non-political. We need to allow use of all potential safe treatments without fear of retribution.
COVID is here to stay.
It is not going anywhere.
My belief is it will be front and center until enough people develop natural herd immunity. Vaccines can be helpful but so far they do not appear to be adding to herd immunity. We need everyone to be as healthy and strong as ever so when they get exposed to COVID, they either kick it out on their own, or we are allowed to use all the therapeutic options that have been available throughout the world.
I do NOT want a politician or bureaucrat lecturing a healthcare professional on COVID treatments.
I do NOT want a biased paid "fact checker" with less knowledge than front line healthcare professionals to diss COVID treatment options.
I do NOT want anyone blaming others for COVID. You know the risks by now. Be responsible for yourself.
Enough is enough.
Get the third parties out of the way and let the healthcare common sense critical thinkers do their job without fear of censorship or retribution.
Until we hit herd immunity we should have all options on the table.
PREVENTION
VACCINES FOR HIGHEST RISK
ACCESS TO NUTRITIONAL TREATMENTS
EARLY USE OF MONOCLONAL ANTIBODIES
ALL PRESCRIPTION MEDICATIONS SHOULD BE AVAILABLE
Take the politics of division out of COVID and healthcare in general.
Let the healthcare professionals who have been on the front lines of this pandemic speak honestly, open and freely about what they have seen work, what has not worked, and have an open debate and discussion.
What works for ye may or may not work for thee, but why not have that option?
Why should we be tying the hands of our healthcare professionals?
Why are we mandating treatments for healthcare workers who are not ill or have already recovered from COVID and now immune? Our hospitals need full staff, especially moving into the cold weather season when COVID may hit hard in those not already part of the herd.
Why do we have COVID protocols using treatments that have not been shown to work and may even harm? You can’t do treatment C until treatments A and B have failed! Why?? Again, all options on the table. Treat everyone as an individual not as a statistic.
It appears that we are shooting ourselves in the foot instead of all putting all hands on deck. I’m surprised we don’t have a shortage of Podiatrists by now. (Think about that…)
I am concerned.
Winter is Coming.
We can get through this better together than apart!
As always, comments welcome. Agree or disagree, I want to hear from you.
Let’s show how we can have open discussion and debate and learn from each other.
Agree 100% Steve!!
This is spot on, Dr. H. Rick and I got Covid virus 3 weeks ago. We’re not vaccinated. It was like a bad flu, definitely not fun but we have both recovered. Rick received the antibody infusion due to his high risk. Within 2 days he was doing very well. I didn’t get it but wished I had, virus stayed with me a lot longer I think. We now feel we have natural immunity furthering our position to not get the shots. We are so grateful for all your insights, keep them coming!
