As we start the March 2022 #IMWChallenge of Intermittent Fasting we should probably quickly discuss the elephant in the room.
What happens to your metabolism when you fast?
I often hear others state that if you fast your body will go into starvation mode and your metabolism will slow down to compensate.
To see if this is correct please watch this short video from Ben Bikman, PHD. Dr. Bikman has devoted his research career to insulin and metabolism. If anyone can help answer this question it is Dr. Bikman.
So it appears that not only does your metabolism not slow down, it actually speeds up a little.
Who would have thought?

Would like to join fasting challenge. Also, not for weight loss.
Serious about the challenge without the weight loss. Ate three meals within the hours of 9 and 5 with the bigger meal in the middle. Any other hints for keeping weight on while enjoying the rest of the health benefits?
