Happy Tuesday and welcome to the #IMWChallenge Day 2
Question:
Mike B
Dr. H…where do you purchase your grass fed organic beef and wild fish from?
Answer:
I get my grass fed organic beef and organic pasture raised chicken from a few different places.
1- Wegmans in Mt. Laurel
2- Sprouts in Marlton
3- Mom’s Organic Market in Cherry Hill - this is an all Organic grocery store. The meat selection is near the front of the store just after the vegetables. It’s not huge but so far the beef and chicken I have tried has been very good.
4- Misfits Organic Delivery Service - Misfits delivers once a week all types of Organic produce at a nice discount. They started recently increasing their selection of Organic meats and fishes. If you don’t mind eating Organic deli meat, they have a nice selection. I find the Organic deli meat a good meal to have if I run into a time crunch and do not have as much time to prepare a meal. It’s excellent for lunch at work. Click on the Misfits link above and I think you can get a discount off your first order.
The beef stick above was from Your Family Farm delivery service. They also have great Organic chicken and dairy as well as beef and other meats. Perhaps I’ll add a food delivery service post at a later date…..
Wild Caught Fish is a bit tougher to find as they seem to be more seasonal.
1- Wegmans - but read the label on the fish at the counter to see whether it is wild or farm raised. Expect to pay a little more on average for wild caught.
2- Costco - every now and then has wild caught salmon, sole and flounder as well as frozen shrimp.
3- Mom’s Organic Market in Cherry Hill - this is an all Organic grocery store. The fish selection is near the front of the store just after the vegetables and is mostly cooked fish already packaged. I enjoy their smoked scallops and smoked mussels. I add them with some onions and peppers into a chicken broth with tomatoes for a really tasty fish soup that is Low Carb.
I also made an amazing Creamy smoked scallop soup shown below.
If anyone has other places to source organic grass fed beef and wild caught fish please let us know in the comments section.
How is everyone doing so far?
Make sure to keep the comments and the meal pics coming. Perhaps I will make a nice collage of all the different meals for some purpose I haven’t thought of yet………..
P.S.
I have a nice ribeye steak defrosting for dinner tonight.
What’s on your menu???
Thanks for the brand specific reveals in your last post and many thanks for the source info in this one (although a little fishy). Much appreciated.
Dinner tonight is venison curry, minus the rice for me!
