Every food pic was excellent! Hard to say what is my favorite!

The push on vegan substitute meats has a lot to do with the cattle problems in Texas and the Midwest (low key on news right now) not what's best for you to eat. There is a reason why big money is trying to buy up all grazing land.

As an inexpensive left over lunch for my family when at home. I make potato burgers. Take left over mashed potatoes(cold) add 1/2 cup mozz. cheese and 2 tbsp fresh parsley mix well, them make into flat hamburger size patties, take one thin pattie and add your favorite thin meat and cheese (They prefer provolone and prosucuitto) Press together so meat and cheese is completely in center (they will be the size of a small hamburger bun). In a large fry pan add 2-3 tbsp of olive oil. Beat two eggs in a bowl and dip patties in egg (removing excess egg) my sons like the original recipe that uses flavored bread crumbs after egg dip (I don't), cook in heated oil and brown on both sides. Only takes a few mins to brown. You can make them at any time and reheat in oven or barbecue when needed.

In addition to eating a primarily animal based diet, I recently made two changes; I added more berries and started eating raw organic honey.

I suspect Saladino reintroduced fruit for a reason.

Because humans ate fruit in season. We would not have avoided colorful slightly sweet foods seasonally to fatten us up for the winter famine.

Yes, we did since the beginning. I know you are a fan of Keto, but what are your thoughts on intermittent Keto, as a way to add variety and flexibility throughout the year. Fruits are obviously mostly carbohydrate, but so far removed from the sugary processed junk, that is also mostly carbohydrate.

Keto should be our normal state when not feeding. But we need the metabolic flexibility to handle carbs when they are eaten/available.

So when we feed we are temporarily out of keto.

When we exercise or are stressed we can be out of keto.

Keto is just a metabolic state, not necessarily the nirvana of health. But as most adults in the US are unhealthy from chronically poor/imbalanced metabolism from overnutrition , achieving ketosis as a normal regular state as much as possible is helpful to return to a healthier balance.

Ketosis is a metabolic state, but not a primary pathway. I see it as more a redundancy, that’s built in as a safety measure to get us through famine/winter gaps. That being said, it’s a good “bio hack” for those that suffer from, or are trying to avoid metabolic dysfunction. The daily carbohydrate intake must remain very low to remain in this state. Do you feel in would be equally beneficial for the general population to follow a slightly less restrictive low-carbohydrate diet? Sugars and processed carbohydrates would still be avoided, but there would be more allowances for whole fruit.

Love all the food pics. I could eat them all! Potatoes are very hard for me to pass up. I just try to limit them and don't cook them when I'm home that much. I would love to see/hear some suggestions for lunch foods other than leftovers. Especially on the go meals to pack up. Thanks for all you do!

The second part of the “saturated fats are bad” narrative, is that “vegetable oils are good for you”. Nothing could be further from the truth. After sugar, these inflammatory seed oils(which processed food is loaded with) are most damaging.

I forgot to add this little tidbit.

Men fart more when eating a plant based diet.

https://www.newscientist.com/article/2289171-men-fart-more-when-eating-a-plant-based-diet-due-to-good-gut-bacteria/

Not sure why they didn't mention Women?? Either they did not study women or perhaps they would have had to change the title of the article to: " Women toot more ....." ????
