To stay on my Low Carb lifestyle without giving up some of my favorite carbs, I focus more on vision. I just look at what I put on my plate.
I like to keep it simple.
I don’t like counting carbs.
I don’t like measuring ketones.
I don’t weigh my food.
I just enjoying planning, preparing, cooking and enjoying a good meal.
So I just go by vision.
I look at my plate.
I want the protein and fat portion to be at least 3/4 aka 75% or more of the plate.
The other 1/4 aka 25% or less can be any NATURAL non-processed carb I enjoy. So yes, that still means no bread, pasta, cookies or cake.
No grains or cereals.
But I do get to eat one of my fav foods, the potato, aka spud, aka tuber, aka tater.
Here was my #delicious dinner last night.
Two pieces of salmon with a side of thinly sliced potatoes. As I cooked the salmon in my Lodge cast iron pan, I surrounded the salmon with 3 small thinly sliced baby potatoes. Thinly sliced allowed the potatoes to cook through and be just about done when the salmon was done cooking.
But this isn’t about the recipe.
This is about simplifying how you can eat healthy and lower carb, all while not giving up your favorite natural non-processed carb.
Here is another example. 2-3 eggs with a smal side of peppers and cauliflower. Delicious food and good for my metabolism.
Eating this way also helps to keep general inflammation down and gut health good.
So if you think a low carbohydrate diet is too difficult, or believe you must give up your favorite natural non-processed carbs, then I hope you will rethink and consider keeping it simpler and more sustainable.
Use the IMW Plate 75-25 or 3/4-1/4, whichever way you like to think about it.

Most corn in this country is GMO.
No guarantee arrowroot isn't but I know with corn that it is GMO until proven otherwise
Please remind me why you choose arrowroot over organic corn starch?
