Soooo…
How is everyone doing on their March 2022 #IMWChallenge of Intermittent Fasting?
Sound off please in the comments section.
As I wrote in the last post Intermittent Fasting gave me back my Low Carb mojo. Sometimes I wonder whether low carb is really necessary if I could just eat one meal a day forever, but that is just cray cray, right???
This week at my office, the IMW, I had many a lab review. For those that do not yet understand how I write, that means I had many appointments with people to review their AWT, Advanced Wellness Tests, to help guide them to improved health. The review uses both traditional, holistic and functional thought processes, all with the ultimate goal to move people towards optimal health. We do NOT look at lab tests and try to fix each lab test with a different intervention. Instead we look at the labs tests as a sum of many different systems of the body that need balancing.
These systems include:
Metabolic
Nutritional
Immune/Inflammatory
Hormonal
Degenerative
Vascular
Organ systems
If there are 10 lab tests that are not optimal and 7 of the tests are part of the Metabolic system, we discuss how to improve metabolism. Then we retest in 3 months to see the improvement. Amazingly, not really as I have seen it so many times that I expect it, when people understand what they need to do and do it, their health improves. It usually improves to the degree that they reduce or eliminate many prescription medications that were mere band aids as opposed to true fixes for their issues.
As Metabolic issues are the #1 issue that most people have today, we usually spend a whole bunch of time working on improving metabolism. Can you guess the top two hacks for improving metabolism?
If so stop reading now and write them down. Then check and see if they agree with my top 2 hacks.
Top 2 hacks for improving metabolism.
1- Lower the carbohydrates which lowers the insulin which decreases fat storage and allows for excess fat to be burned for energy and cleared from the body.
2- Intermittent Fasting which lowers the insulin which decreases fat storage and allows for excess fat to be burned for energy and cleared from the body.
I have a 3rd hack but that will most likely be April’s #IMWChallenge .
Time for some Q&M
Quotes and Memes
“And if all others accepted the lie which the Party imposed—if all records told the same tale—then the lie passed into history and became truth. 'Who controls the past' ran the Party slogan, 'controls the future: who controls the present controls the past.” -George Orwell, 1984
I’m just asking. I’m not really looking for him……………..
I wish the below never happened in 1974. It is one of the largest reasons we are where we are today with poor metabolic health.
The pic below is how I feel about most stories I read in the media.
The chance I will do something that doesn’t pass my smell test.
This one is not really funny if you think about it.
A quickie thought.
Gas prices are going up quickly.
Luckily the IMW is well set up for virtual visits using our Spruce app. If you request a consultation/appointment for mainly discussion and not needing an in-office examination, you can always request a virtual visit to save on transportation costs.
Virtual visits took off 2 years ago during the lockdown and have been a part of the IMW ever since, mostly by request of all our IMW members.
Virtual visits are an option if you choose it.
I saw something on twitter that I really enjoyed. I think we all can have fun with it if you play along. Someone wrote a sentence and then asked for responses.
Below is the question.
Let’s see how many responses we get.
Random line from a movie anyone should know. Go!
I’ll start.
“Frankly my dear, I don’t give a da-n.”
Now that line was from before my time but I used it as an example. So I challenge everyone to put in the comments a random line from a movie that anyone should know if they read it.
See how many movies you know from just the random line.
Ready?
Set!
GO!
Just recently had my teens watch this movie. Quote is "Roads? Where we're going we don't need roads". Any guesses?
As far as low carb, I don't think you need it if you do OMAD! Works for me so far!
“You had me at hello.”
Which reminds me I was suspicious at, “15 days to slow the spread” which continued through, “I am the science.”
