Happy New Year everyone!
2024 is over so now it is time to make 2025 an even healthier year!
To make 2025 even healthier, I will be doing my best to list some 2025 Resolutions for Optimal Health, IMW style during the month of January.
So let’s start today.
2025 IMW Resolution #1
Eat more fish.
It really is tasty!
Let’s see just how tasty…..
Grilled Swordfish with a side of potatoes
Fish contains healthy protein and fat, with nary a carbohydrate.
Grilled Bronzino
The Omega fatty acids found in fish can be very anti-inflammatory.
Crabmeat cocktail
Fish are very satiating, meaning it is tough to overeat.
Shrimp cocktail
Some people have called fish brain food.
Garlic buttered Shrimp
I mentioned fish oils as being anti-inflammatory but I always prefer eating fish over taking fish oil capsules.
SPM’s are the anti-inflammatory metabolite that comes from fish. These are the new wonder fish oil for all types of inflammation.
Ask me in the comments section for where to get SPM’s if you don’t eat enough fish.
Fish contains healthy proteins, but not always the same amount of fat.
I don’t worry much about dietary fat from fish. But the chart above can be helpful for those of you who do.
Fish is a whole food containing all the protein and amino acids you need to be healthy.
Below are some other assorted wonders of fish.
I have plenty more on the benefits of eating fish, but this post is long enough, and I need to hold some stuff back, to keep you wanting to learn more.
So will any of my smart and fearless Common Sense Health and Wellness readers join me in this 2025 resolution to eat more fish?
I hope so.
As always, comments and questions welcome.
Please consider making 2025 the year you switch to a paid subscription to Common Sense Health and Wellness. It’s only $5/month but does have a few perks. One perk is a 25% discount on nutritional supplements thru the IMW Fullscript online store. Second perk is your invitations to our monthly interactive IMW group wellness zoom meetings. Third perk is my never ending respect!
So how do we get more Spms if we don’t like fish? I really wish I liked fish, but all I can handle is tuna. Btw, happy new year everyone!
Loved the pic of the beefish! Smelts are my families favorite this time of year, low in mercury.
Family tradition for the New Year on my husband's side.
Happy New year to all and thanks for sharing!
