Here was a post from Shawn Baker, one of the early adopters and leaders of the Carnivore movement.
How much meat do you think you eat a day?
Definition of meat includes all animals, fish, birds and eggs. If it can run, swim or fly away from you, well…….
I’ll start.
I’m not 6’ 5” and I am below 150lbs. So we are not comparing ourselves to Shawn or anyone else. But it would be interesting to see what others are doing.
Since the IMW Carnivore Challenge began for me on Sept 3, 2024, I probably average about 1-1.5 lbs of combination meat and eggs. I also eat cheese anywhere from a piece to way too much.
I guess cheese is my vice.
If you are willing to share, let us know in the comments below if you are Carnivore or not, and how much meat you eat a day.
Also are you feeling well and healthy on a more meat based diet or less so.
It may be food for thought for others considering a change in their diets.
I hope this starts a nice discussion.
I am probably doing about a pound, maybe less, a day. I actually started seriously cutting carbs in April. I’ve been overweight since I was in middle school and have struggled ever since. I have lost 60 lbs. and my lab numbers are better than ever. I’d like to get another 40 off. My only cheats are occasional fruits and some nuts. But basically I’m sticking to steak, burgers, eggs, and cheese. I’m five weeks out from a hip replacement and can finally walk. I’m looking forward to moving again.
I think I eat a little more than a pound of meat and eggs per day. I usually have 2-3 eggs at breakfast; lunch is a hamburger (80/20) that begins at 1/2 lb, then cooks down; and then a slice or two of filet for dinner. I started the challenge a week late, but I am down 17lbs. I avoided cheese for the first two weeks, but now that is my cheat food. ;-)
