Yes, using Common Sense is helpful to improve your health and wellness.
But there is just so much information out there. Trying to figure out what is real and what is fake can be trying. I am constantly reading the health and medical news, both traditional and functional, and I often have to read things thru quite a few times before I can determine whether the information is #1 true, and #2 Can it be used to help others?
So a bit more of the intro to this challenge and then the challenge will be put out there for you.
Butt first, I had quite a few people who commented to me in the office about Challenge #5, about fiber and the abundance of poop jokes. Their comments came with a smile, so I decided to add one more here, just for fun.
I’ve learned over the years to pretty much not believe anything at face value. The other day I saw something on twitter and I decided to expand on it as I found it useful in how to see thru the healthcare propaganda. Now before you say, “Hey this is a health and wellness challenge, why are you bringing this stuff up?”, it is because every day I get asked questions that begin with:
“They said this on the news …..”
“I read this in a magazine …”
“I saw this ad on TV ….”
“Dr. Google said that I ….”
So most encounters I have throughout my workday is hearing those questions, thinking to myself whether what was stated has any validity, and usually they do not, and then explaining why it does not make sense. Now every now and then I hear something, I think further about it, I then research it further, and learn something new. So I never discourage anyone from trying to learn more about their health and to get multiple opinions and to ask questions. Always ask questions. But I do ask that you not believe much, no matter how cool it sounds, what you see, hear or read in the media or from government public health.
Below are some of the reasons why.
