So it’s Day 24 on my Carnivore challenge.
It no longer feels like something I have to think about. At this point it is just a way of life.
So after a week of work at the best place ever to work, the Institute for Medical Wellness, aka the IMW, my family decided it would be nice to get out on a Friday night.
Sooooo…..
We decided to go to the Library 2 in Marlton, or is it Voorhees?? Not sure but it is on Rte 73.
What I used to always like about the Library was that you had a choice of many different cuts of meat to order. While waiting for the meat to be ready you went to the salad bar, which had many offerings.
Butt, what can a Carnivore eat from the salad bar???
Well let me show ya.
Hard boiled egg diced with shredded cheese, bacon and just a bit of Caesar dressing. I mixed everything together and it was good. The cubes of cheese I ate on the side. So the salad bar adventure was a success.
Then my meal came out. I ordered the Prime Rib Queen cut.
It was delicious.
No I did not finish it. Probably about 1/3 of it came home for a meal this weekend.
So dinner out was a Carnivore success.
What’s interesting is that 3 weeks ago, early in on the Carnivore challenge, I had a larger appetite. Now my 1st meal of the day has a good appetite, but dinner seems to be less. In the past I could challenge myself to eat more to “finish everything on my plate”, almost to prove a point, but not anymore. I wonder if this is a Carnivore thing, a Keto thing, or just some other thing.
After dinner we decided to stop by Sprouts grocery store. I used to really like the store when I was not Carnivore as they usually have a good selection of Organic fruits and veggies along with other food “products” that I would occasionally indulge in.
But as I walked into the store and looked around, probably 95% of the store had no meaning for me. The stuff I used to look at or crave, no longer looked like food to me. No cravings.
So what next. Well 2 miles from Sprouts on 73 happens to be Whole Paycheck. So we stopped there as well for some things not at Sprouts. Once again, very little of the store even resembled food.
So that’s where I am 3+ weeks in on Carnivore. How is everyone else doing on their challenge?
Do you have the same thoughts when you go food shopping?
Has your appetite also shrunk?
Let me know in the comments below.
Been eating “carnivore” since June for health reasons and I too have less appetite. I eat more at breakfast, at lunch it depends, but dinner is no longer that important. And it used to be my biggest meal.
I also have not been very happy with the Sprouts and Whole Foods meat selection. My husband and I have been using Bagliani's in Hammonton for years. They do not freeze there meats, what a difference. The cheese selection is fantastic and their homemade chicken sausage is wonderful. They have been in business for over 60 years. It is a 25 min drive down 206 from Red Lion Circle but very worth the trip! We go on Sunday mornings, less traffic, that's our weekend after work.
