Just about everyone I know wants to stay young. They don't mind aging as maturity and life experience has some benefits, but they want their physical and mental body to retain their youthful function.
So to stay young I suggest you hire an Uber driver whose name is Ponce De Leon.
His number is: 1-800-366-8246 or 1-800-FOUNTAIN
If you can't find Ponce or his famous fountain then may I suggest the following.
To stay young you need to keep your body in a healthy equilibrium or as medical students, researchers and scientists say, homeostasis.
To stay young I say you need to balance out the different SYSTEMS of your body.
In practice, well at least at the IMW, we evaluate your subjective complaints, your objective physical findings, your personal and past family history of risk factors, your Advanced Wellness Testing and other clues and markers that come up to determine how well your body is balanced or in homeostasis.
The most important areas to balance are listed below.
1- Immune/Inflammatory system
2- Metabolic System
3- Nutritional System
4- Gut
5- Hormonal System
There is much overlap in the above and other systems come into play as well, but the most important factors that you can control, should you choose, are #1 and #2. Which reminds me of the saying.
Always look out for #1, but don't step in #2
While at conference I discovered new wave fancy schmancy anti-aging testing such as Telomeres https://www.spectracell.com/telomere-testing/ and Glycan age https://glycanage.com/ , which may end up being game breakers in anti-aging evaluations, but the main gist here is for you to learn how to get your Metabolism and Immune system as healthy and balanced as possible. Your Metabolism and Immune systems are the one two punch for the aging process.
Think for a moment, if you can.
Who ages faster? Someone with or without Diabetes?
I'll give ya this one.
People with Diabetes age faster.
People with Diabetes and also Pre-Diabetes have less than optimal Metabolism.
Now think again for another moment if you have the time.
Who had the worst outcomes during COVID or Influenza season?
Was it young people with healthy vibrant immune systems?
Or was it older people with weaker or dysfunctional Immune systems?
I hope you know the answer to this one.
So if you want to improve your health, then you need to optimize your Metabolic and Immune health.
This begins with proper Nutrition.
This continues with a healthy Gut.
Having a well balanced Hormonal system is a plus.
The 5 systems I mentioned all overlap, with dysfunctions in one area can cause dysfunctions in others.
By the same thought though, fixing dysfunctions in one system help to improve imbalances in others.
At the Institute for Medical Wellness, we take this Systems approach to help you understand how to improve your health to slow down the aging process, help you achieve a higher quality of life as well as a longer hopefully more productive life as well.
So before you go purchasing the newest and latest breaking new anti-aging supplement, how bout instead you improve your metabolism and immune systems, and your nutrition, gut and hormonal system as well?
I think I know someone who can help.
As COVID hopefully continues to fall further into our rear view mirror, I am trying to discuss it less and less. So instead of writing about it I will instead link here some recent posts I have read about COVID that I found interesting. It just may give you other perspectives on COVID moving forward. But as always, you decide what you believe, I just ask you read the many different sides of the issues, and try and avoid bias.
There may be a temporary paywall on the full article above.
The above link is from an Australian doc.
Knowing how our justice system protects the big corps and politicians, the above case will probably not go anywhere. But there is always hope that it does regardless of the outcome. I would just like to hear whether the proof is real or fake.
So let’s do a quick poll.
OK.
I think that’s enough for today.
What started as a general plan for slowing the aging process ended with more COVID-BS. Sorry bout that!
Questions and comments always encouraged and welcome.
I've started in on the topic of "antioxidants," which seem to come up a lot in discussions of aging. The funny thing is that these substances have major overlap with antinutrients i.e. phytic acid, and/or "metabolic villains" i.e uric acid. How do you slice the onion on this topic?
Unfortunately, as exhausting as it's been, we're going to have to remain vigilant on the Covid front if only for the sake of guarding our own freedoms. There are still some real wimps in our families who can't be bothered to understand this stuff for themselves and would sooner trust the superstition-reinforcing advice of Little Pharma (peddling Big Pharma's agenda with that small town personal touch!) and at-home covid test kits, rather than listen to their own 60+ years of life experience with the once seasonal influenza.
We're dealing with folks who still won't honor reality despite all the evidence plain in front of them and right at their fingertips online, so the truth's gonna bear repeating until the government finds something else to fearmonger over..
