I always find it fascinating hearing about people who leave veganism to become carnivores

There are work arounds with vegetables(fermentation, cooking, sprouting) to reduce the anti-nutrients. We have been doing this for millennia. That being said, there is no comparison between vegetables and animal products as far as nutritional density and bioavailability. Meat and dairy(also fermented) are vastly superior. Fruit, are much less problematic, since the plants want their fruit to be eaten. We are omnivorous and do well with animal sources, but even though vegans would like us to believe otherwise, we are definitely NOT herbivores.

He's right, veggies are unpleasant on the gut, but people will still believe whatever they think they need to believe to get through the day, especially in cases where they've made their diet their identity. Those choices tend to be emotionally driven rather than arrived at by looking at their labs like the guy did.

Are there any good studies out there on this stuff? Anecdotally I've heard of people who are into vegan body building, and probably some of them can do a couple dozen pullups too. But I don't know for sure what else they're consuming or supplementing with that's getting them on the same page as meat eaters.
