This is a sweeping generalization. But what has come out lately, well….

When I see a headline like this.
Medication and Surgery as treatment for Obesity in adolescents? Are you kidding me? The American Academy of Pediatrics needs to do some deeper thinking here. I want to know if they are truly thinking of advocating for what is best and safest for kids OR if they are pandering for the present healthcare system dominated by big Corporations, Insurers, Big Pharma, hospitals, etc, etc.
Do they think the reasons the children are obese is because they have a deficiency of weight loss medications?
Do they think the reasons that children are obese is because they have some anatomic defect that a surgeon must cut out and fix?
Z68.54
The ICD10 diagnosis code that can be used for Childhood Obesity.
Diagnosis codes keep expanding. It seems to me that the more diagnosis codes we have, the more advocacy for expensive treatment plans we get to keep the $$ flowing into the healthcare system and all those that profit from it.
OK. Some of you may be reading this and saying, “Stop complaining Doc!”
Well it’s not really complaining. It’s actually pointing out there are different options that can be used other than medications and surgery.
I wonder if the Healthcare system should really be renamed the Sickcare system as they seem to thrive on keeping people chronically sick, perhaps to keep them utilizing their services? Who knows? But I doubt those deep in this sickcare system actually realize that is what they are doing.
Has anyone in the Sickcare system ever thought their dietary recommendations full of sugar and junk food just might be somewhat responsible for childhood Obesity?
But I guess there is not much $$ for the Sickcare system by telling people to eat healthier?
I guess there is not much $$ for the processed food industry who probably sponsors the Sickcare system by telling people to eat healthier?
I guess there are probably less industry donations to politicians who advocate for healthier eating as opposed to the present highly sponsored US government food recommendations?
I think I am done beating a dead horse here.
Agree or Disagree with me.
That’s OK.
I hope it gave you something to think about.
Now for what you have been waiting for. More food pics. These will doubtfully ever be recommended by our government authorities. But eating this way keeps people in a healthier metabolic state.
I had this Friday night for dinner and it was #deliciouso #LowCarb.
Grassfed Ribeye with a side of Organic Riced cauliflower seasoned with butter, chimichurri seasonings and the meat gravy from the Lodge cast iron pan the Ribeye was cooked in.
Another #deliciouso #LowCarb.
This one I got as an idea after eating at a Pho restaurant. Thinly sliced beef rolled up with sliced sweet onion inside. Beef cooked with sesame and garlic olive oil and of course plenty of onion/garlic powder and some Braggs amino acids (gluten free substitute for soy sauce). I also had some thinly sliced potatoes on the side.
Another #deliciouso meal. Mostly low carb. I had to eat 3-4 more of the beef roll ups to make it low carb by my 3/4 - 1/4 rule. But it was so tasty it was worth it.
I’ll end with my meme/pic of the week.

When I read the food you had eaten I saw sesame oil used with olive oil.
Isn’t this one oil of many seed oils etc we aren’t to eat?
I loved the article that teaches us and it speaks the truth. I’d read that people now are not to use the word obesity when referring to overweight people.
When does it end?!?!
