Unless you just woke up and did not yet get out bed, you have already started detoxifying your body. If you do not believe me, keep reading. If you do believe me, keep reading.
Our body is always trying to stay in balance. Tough job but we are constantly putting things into our body or just being exposed to unavoidable toxins. We must then extract what we want and clear or safely detox out what we do not want.
There are many ways to detox.
Let’s discuss what I mean here, as it may not be what you first think.
1- Urinating is how the kidneys help the body clear/clean out the blood. This is detoxification.
Most people detox this way when they wake up.
2- Defecating (passing a bowel movement) is how our Gut helps the body clear/clean out the bowels. This is detoxification.
3- Sweating is how our skin helps the body to clear out excess fluids, minerals, metals etc., as well as keep our internal body temperature regulated. This is detoxification.
4- Exhaling a breath is how the body clears out excess carbon dioxide produced during respiration and energy production. This is detoxification.
5- Coughing is a way of clearing out mucus and secretions from your airway, you know that thing that helps you breathe. This is detoxification.
6- Sneezing is a way of clearing your mucus and secretions from your nose and sinuses, another thing that helps you breathe. This is detoxification.
The above are all natural ways that your body detoxifies itself every moment of every day. But it helps to not put toxic stuff into your body.
Yes Sugar, especially in excess is toxic. What is that disease process everyone always talks about again, you know, the one where blood glucose levels stay high and leads to early heart disease, strokes, dementia and cancer? Oh yeah, I think that is Diabetes which is a disease process from chronic excess carbohydrate/sugar intake. So yeah, I guess EXCESS dietary carbohydrates/sugar are toxins.
Then there is always the question about what has been added to our food either when it is grown, or afterwards when the food companies do their thing.
Hint- there is research that this “weedkiller” isn’t restricted just to weeds.
One more and maybe I’ll be done.
Now Tinkerbell may be perhaps a bit underweight so I wouldn’t necessarily call her healthy.
But Tacobell is most definitely overweight. Here is the medical issue. Your fat cells store fat along with most things fat soluble, INCLUDING many toxins. So the more excess weight you carry in your fat cells, the more toxic you may be. So healthy loss of excess fat weight, along with the toxins, well, This is detoxification.
Another very very important area we need to detoxify that I have not yet mentioned.
How does your brain detoxify?
Well there is research that discusses what is now known as the Glymphatic system. This brain detox pathway is most active at night while you should be sleeping. Another reason healthy restful sleep is so so important.
But besides sleep there may be other ways to detoxify your brain.
Here are some possibilities below.
Turn off all media news, especially as it relates to corporate or government health experts. They are generally just trying to sell you something.
2- Avoid political speeches as they are mostly toxic and divisive.
3- Stop trusting the "experts".
4- Always look for the bias and avoid being dragged into an argument just to argue.
5- I encourage you to always ask questions until you understand your health risks and issues. Try and think thru the many different sides of each health issue and figure out what is best for you. Use your own eyes, ears and brain and critically think before believing anything. You might even need to challenge some of your long-held beliefs. But don’t worry as worry is not necessarily healthy either.
6- And, as I always say, "Don't believe everything I say or write either." Use your own life experiences as a guide and try to eliminate any bias before you make your own decisions.

Saying detox thinking it means one thing is like saying inflammation and think it means something.
They are words that can mean so many things.
But the best detox is really cheap and really easy.
Eat less quantity and less often. Give your Gut a chance to recover by not putting more things in. If u want a challenge, do a fluid only fast for 24-48 hours. The gut loves a liquid only fast.
So you don’t need to buy any cleanses or take fizzies.
I too would like to know more about some of the cleanses and detox diets/drinks. I’m thinking there are times in your life when something like this might help. Thanks for all the laughs!
