Day 3 of IMW Carnivore Challenge
Since we are in a Challenge I decided to help you see how Carnivore can improve systems in your body.
As you hopefully know by now, at the IMW, we look to help you improve systems, for when the systems improve, your health issues improve as well.
Improving systems means getting as close to the root cause as possible.
Can you believe what you put into your body and what your exposed to actually plays a part in your health? Unfortunately many in the Traditional healthcare world don’t yet see this. But I write here on Common Sense Health and Wellness so that you will.
So let’s look at a System.
Metabolic System otherwise known as your metabolism. Think of your metabolism as the balance between burning energy and storing energy, all while keeping your body healthy. We don’t want to store an excess of energy as fuel, mostly fat, nor do we want to not have enough fuel stored for those times when we need energy but not have available fuel.
Carnivore provides you with plenty of healthy fats for fuel, along with healthy protein to maintain the structure and function of your body.
Think of fat as the fuel in your gas tank, and protein as the materials that make your car. We don’t want to burn your car door, or seats or engine pieces, etc. That would damage your car. But we do want to burn the fuel as that is its primary purpose.
So when you are eating Carnivore, your body burns a balance of fat from your diet along with stored fat on your body. The balance of stored vs burned depends on the quantities of fat you eat, but it is very very difficult to overeat fat without forcing yourself to overeat.
Also, when you are not eating carbohydrates, your insulin hormone, the one that stored excess carbohydrates as fat, reduces. So you no longer store excess fat from carbohydrates. But lower insulin levels also allows your stored body fat to be made more easily available to be released to be burned for fuel, This is why many Overweight people shed fat when they go Carnivore.
Another way to think about Insulin is that high levels of Insulin not only push more fat into your fat cells, but they also prevent fat from leaving your fat cells to be burned. So if you have chronic high insulin, you are moving towards Overweight, Obesity, High Blood Pressure, Diabetes, Heart Disease, Strokes, Cancer, Dementia….
Carnivore is phenomenal at reversing high insulin levels that contribute to Insulin Resistance thus making you more Insulin Sensitive. This not only helps to reverse those chronic diseases just mentioned, but by making more fuel available for use, your hunger decreases but your energy level increases. That’s the balance that feels great.
