When I am not working and when not spending time with family and friends, and yes I do have friends, I spend a whole lot of time reading, usually about health and wellness. I enjoy reading other peoples thoughts and experiences. Do I believe and trust what I read? Nope. Does the reading usually give me food for thought? Yes.
Usually the reading opens up questions which my mind wants to put into a real life perspective. I want to see if what an author believes is occurring in health is actually taking place. That is where 30 years of clinical experience comes in. That is why I use Evidence Based Medicine (EBM) as well as Experience Based Medicine ( also EBM ). Two different forms of EBM that are not always aligned. But that is OK. There should never be a one size fits all treatment for anything, especially health and medical.
So back to what I have recently downloaded into my Kindle library.
Cure your Fatigue - by Morley Robbins
This very well researched book is centered on how a balance of minerals is needed for your body to be in the proper balance to age slowly and reverse fatigue. It has definitely given me new ideas.
The P:E Diet - Ted Naiman, MD and William Shewfelt
This book is another metabolic diet book based on balancing out protein for structure and function with carbs and fat for energy.
Excellent book and I use some of their theories in practice with success.
The Real Anthony Fauci - Robert Kennedy Jr.
I am only thru the first chapter so I can not really give a review. In the past I thought Robert Kennedy was a bit out there with his ideas around vaccinations. But after reading just one chapter I think he might be on to something. I look forward to reading further. Maybe he will change my mind. Maybe he won’t. But it seems like it’s worth a read.
The Clot Thickens - The enduring mystery of heart disease — Dr Malcolm Kendrick
I have not yet started this book but I am looking forward to it. Dr Kendrick is one of the original skeptics of the cholesterol causes heart disease theory. If you know me well you know I am on his team there. But in this book he goes into more of what he believes actually causes heart disease. Whether he is right or wrong, I hope his book advances the discussion of heart disease prevention away from the almost singular focus on LDL cholesterol.
A Plague Upon Our House - Scott Atlas MD
I have not yet started this book either but hope to get to it soon. It looks like this book is an alternative view to the mainstream media about what went on in the Trump White House to stop COVID from destroying America.
These are five books in my Kindle library.
There is just so much disinformation and misinformation today that we need to get back to reality. Reality is looking at life through your own eyes without being biased by politics or media. Reality is open and transparent communication without censorship. It was not too long ago these concepts were taken for granted. We must get back to that time before the concepts we took for granted are taken away for good.
If anyone has already read any of these books, please let me know in the comments what you thought of the book(s), both good or bad, and whether the book(s) seemed like reality, spin or hoax. If you have any other book recommendations in health and wellness, please let me know as well.
I just purchased The Real Anthony Fauci book by Robert F Kennedy Jr. I look forward to reading it.
Keeps us posted on your thoughts about Kennedys book..I will be purchasing his book ... I saw him on Daystar.com ...he gave a lot of good info , that you will not hear in the Media.
