I have not used fasting as a challenge, yet???
But today I decided to work thru lunch and then keep myself busy and distracted enough til dinner to do a 24 hour fast.
It’s interesting how when I keep busy I am not hungry.
When I keep busy the time just flies.
When I keep busy I can think about what I want for dinner but not be hungry.
So I began work in the office at 9am and worked continuously until about 330pm when I finished. When I say I finished that means with active patients either in office or virtual. But my day is never really done as when not with patients I have time to check and respond to messages, review labs and other reports and prepare for the next work day.
I also then have time to work on another Common Sense Health and Wellness post. I know you don’t want to miss these posts.
So I left the office and since Wegmans is a hop and a skip from my office, I decided to break my fast with a nice porterhouse steak.
I hope you saw that coming.
I picked one up for me and my daughter. Yes so for all the math majors out there, that means I picked up two porterhouse steaks.
Here they are on the grill.
Here they are on a normal size dinner plate.
Here is what was left of my steak, which was the one on the right above.
Yes.
I am so proud of myself.
Brain Break Time for some useless information.
Approximately 97% of all statistics are made up.
Here’s the deal.
The steak was big. I finished it and a very small portion of my daughter’s steak.
I had nothing on the side. I just ate the steak.
Totally satiated.
So I guess my IMW Plate was 100% protein/fat and zero carb/plant today.
When I go on the scale tomorrow I will probably be a pound LIGHTER, which was my goal.
Addendum: I weighed 1.2 lbs lighter in the morning.
So I can have my steak, get tons of nutrients, lose weight and maintain good health.
I’d say that is a nice combination that works well for me.
What did you have as a mostly protein/fat meal this week?
You can share this in the chat room with pics to prove your prowess.
Or Not, your choice as always.
Don’t forget our Summer Challenge that just began a week ago and will hopefully run thru the Summer. You can join by upgrading to a paid subscription. It’s an outrageously expensive $5/month used to help get you motivated to work on your wellness by challenging yourself to put in the necessary thought processes to succeed. So decide if that $5 cup of fancy Java is worth more than improving your health.
Of course comments are welcome as well below.
I had chicken for lunch and ribeye for dinner the last two days, no sides.
How do you cook your steaks? They look delicious!
