It’s good to get away, learn a few things, be around people again without all the COVID mask and vax hysteria. It was even nice to see parts of NYC again. I never thought I would say that again.
But it’s even nicer to get back home, sleep in your own bed, play with your dog,
drive in your own car, cook and eat your own homemade meals where you can keep the ingredients clean, and yes, it’s even nice to get back to work.
Above pic is a grass fed filet and homemade seafood chowder. The chowder was made with shrimp, scallops and crabmeat, heavy cream, Unchicken broth, 1/2 small russet potato, onion, celery and spices. It was #Delicious
You know what.
I actually enjoy my work.
I like what I do.
I like solving puzzles.
I like asking Why, why again, and why again again. You learn more when you ask questions. You become a blinded follower when you stay silent and just believe what others say.
I like meeting people in person again and talking and learning and discovering new things.
I am so happy I found a way to have a job, a profession that does not feel like work. I’m sure many of my colleagues in the Traditional healthcare system may feel different, but that is their problem. It can be solved if they choose to, but many in my profession are just unwitting followers. Don’t get me wrong. I highly respect my colleagues, but I wish they would extricate them from the dysfunction that is todays traditional healthcare system.
I think I owe most of my work happiness to everyone who visits me at the Institute for Medical Wellness (IMW).
Back in 2007, when I was contemplating leaving the traditional healthcare system and starting the first Direct Primary Care practice in New Jersey, I had a few concerns But the ability to develop a practice that fits my personality, my drive and my ambitions to help people reverse their chronic medical conditions was what made the decision fairly easy.
So in 2008 the transition began and I never looked back. The IMW has been evolving ever since in an effort to make it the best place to visit for learning how to improve your health.
So while the traditional healthcare system is devolving more and more every day, the IMW keeps improving.
I have many more ideas of how to continue to improve the IMW. From feedback so far it seems like many of you like to learn along with me much of what I report back from conferences I attend. So I guess I will just have to suck it up and travel more to other conferences. I think I saw a few that I might attend. I’ll have to check later for flights to Hawaii, the Virgin Islands and Bali.
So for now, since I brought up how the IMW is evolving, how bout telling me in the comments what you would like to see at the IMW. I can’t promise I will comply, but I am always open to new ideas and thoughts.
I don't think what we have today can be called "Traditional" Healthcare. It's the exact opposite. In fact, I don't even think we can call today's healthcare "healthcare". It's drug sales to treat symptoms, plain and simple. And when those drugs create additional symptoms, why, we just treat those additional symptoms with additional drugs.
Boy, that soup looks real good! And your dog looks happy to see you back!
Thanks for continuing your education!
