It’s time for the annual Flu Season where we are bombarded by Big Media about how to stay well during Flu Season.
The traditional healthcare and government view for protection is to get the flu vaccine. Almost funny how both Big Government and Big Healthcare are so aligned on the flu vaccine. I wonder if both those Bigs have anything Big in common???
Well not that Big above….
Show me how old you are by telling me who that pic is above.
Flu vaccines are always an option but even during their best years, the flu vaccine has only had about a 40% success rate, sometimes dropping down to 20%, which is about the average placebo effect.
But the choice is yours unless you work for an entity that mandates you get a flu vaccine. I have little issue with whatever you decide to put into your body. It’s your choice and I always respect your decisions. What I have issue with is when others try and take away your choice and mandate any type of medical treatment.
Switching gears as I don’t want this post to be about Flu vaccines.
So what else can you do to get thru the Flu season without getting sick?
1- Keep your immune system healthy. This means getting your metabolism as healthy as possible. Healthy metabolism improves the ability of your immune system to stay balanced in its effort to keep you well. Best metabolism for this comes from low carb diets and diets that avoid fake processed ingredients.
Don’t ask your immune system to work harder to get rid of fake food than it does to get rid of viruses like the flu.
2- Get your Vitamin D level to about 50-60 in your blood. This has been shown many times to help prevent flu. As we produce Vitamin D during summer sun exposure, it’s no wonder flu season occurs in the cold winter months as opposed to the warm sunny months.
3- Here is a new one I just came across. Consider using Bovine Colostrum on a daily basis. Studies have shown colostrum helps reduce your chances of getting influenza.
We happen to have a top quality Bovine Colostrum at the IMW. There are also other Colostrum products available on Fullscript.
All paid subscribers to Common Sense Health and Wellness get 25% off all Fullscript supplements thru the IMW as well as being able to participate in our monthly IMW Health and Wellness Zoom meetings.
4- You can use nasal sprays that help kill viruses if you are around people who are sick. COFIX nasal spray is a popular nasal spray since COVID began.
5- Get proper sleep
6- Lower your stress levels with exercise,
as well as outdoor activities.
One of the biggest stresses can be dealing with difficult people so here are some options.
I’m sure there are many other methods to protect yourself during flu season but the above are a really good start.
The pic below though, I don’t think so…
As always, comments and questions welcome.
Flu shot does not help me. I would get terrible flu the years I took the shot. I stopped taking since 3 years and no flu . That being said my vitamin D level used to be 19 and since 2020 I brought it up to 47. For me that has been the game changer .
Mr. Big (Chris Noth, I believe) and yes I did get a flu shot. I do listen to you regarding daily life style. It has served me well since my challenge earlier this year. I do remember the lessons learned from my mom. Wash your hands, good sleep and watch my diet. Thanks for your column and common sense.
