Vegetarian Low Carb Diets ?
Tougher, but it can be done.
I met this week with an IMW member with a different view on diet and health. This member has been a Vegetarian all his life as has his family. His parents lived well into their late 80s. So by all means a Vegetarian lifestyle contributed to their health and longevity. We always have good and pleasant discussions on diet and health. We agree to disagree on our preferences but we agree that what we have each chosen works well for us as individuals.
Does this mean Low Carb animal based diets are bad and Vegetarian diets are good?
No
Does it mean Low Carb animal based diets are good and Vegetarian diets are bad?
No
It means that there is more than one way to achieve optimal health.
I was gonna say “to skin a cat” but that wording didn’t seem to flow well with the subject of this post.
At the IMW we put a large focus on diet and nutrition because our government dietary recommendations have not worked. If they were working we would not have 75% or more of adults listed as overweight or obese. In other words we have a true epidemic of metabolic disease in this country. Sometimes I wonder whether Big Food and Big Pharma are in cahoots together? (( I got to write cahoots— WooHoo)). For those who don’t want to click on the link for the definition of cahoots, here it is.
Cahoots :
from The American Heritage® Dictionary of the English Language, 5th Edition.
noun plural Questionable collaboration; secret partnership.
from Wiktionary, Creative Commons Attribution/Share-Alike License.
noun Collusion or collaboration to nefarious ends.
Seems kind of spot on to me!
Big Food makes us all obese and sick and then Big Pharma sells us drugs to mask, not cure, but mask all the problems associated with metabolic diseases. Then Big Government gets to tax all the new food and Pharma products. It’s almost like a Plandemic of the Bigs and we are the unsuspecting lemmings being led along for others profits. I won’t even get into campaign contributions from Big Industry to Big Government…..
I am far from alone in these thoughts.
Others with a larger megaphone are staring to make themselves heard.
Back on Topic:
The government dietary recommendations are neither animal based nor plant based. Well of recent it seems like they are moving more towards plant based than animal based but those are just suggestions, not food mandates, for now.
The point being that government suggestions/recommendations today can easily turn into rules, regulations, laws and mandates tomorrow.
Do you want your dietary preference outlawed or made more difficult due to politicians biggest campaign contributor? If the COVID vaccine mandates are a clue, you realize the answer to when a mandate can occur is “at any time they feel they can get away with it”.
The problem with government dietary recommendations are that they are Big Food Corporation based and filled with so much fake unhealthy food. Read any processed food product and try to pronounce some of the ingredients. If you can’t pronounce the word there is a good likelihood it’s not real food. I know many people improve their health when they stop following the governments diet advice and switch to either a Vegetarian or Animal based diet minus the fake food.
So almost any real food diet that avoids fake food is an improvement over Big US government food recommendations.
At the IMW I move more towards an animal based diet as that is where I have put many hours of study and have many years of experience.
If you are a Vegetarian and in great health, do not switch your diet. Our goal at the IMW is to improve your health, not to switch your diet just for the sake of switching it. In other words if it ain’t broke don’t fix it.
Now here is a reach out.
