There are many benefits of a Low Carb Lifestyle.
My belief has always been that Lower Carb Diets are not about weight loss, but more about overall health.
I always say that you do not need to believe me. So I ask you to think through it and decide for yourself. See what others who have gone on their own Low Carb journey have found.
So I posed a question on Twitter today.

Do you presently have any of these issues that others have found to be improved when they went Low Carb?
Mental clarity.
After decades of relentless weight gain only slowed by the misery of constant hunger, why wouldn't I continue to feel healthier, free from obsession with food? All excuses & having to protect supply of carbs eliminated - Just great, slips and falls included! #lowcarb
Overall decrease in inflammatory issues...fixed arthritis ... no more pain.
I now eat without guilt or fear.
I feel really really good.
I didn't do it to lose weight. As other commenters here noted I stumbled into it to reduce heart burn and the added benefit of reduced arthritic pain became too evident to ignore. When I jump off for the holidays the symptoms return quickly.
No more blood pressure pills, no more heartburn, no more “hunger” all day.
Everything better, bloods, digestion, skin, lack of flatulence, power to weight ratio, joints, real food, no brain fog, no food cravings…
The list is too long.
If I listened to “experts” & did not do my own research on my own body...which is mine. I would still be suffering from GERD, diabetes, bipolar2, addictions to food carbs, exercise, sex, skin tags, tooth decay, migraines, tinnitus, vertigo. youcuredwhat.com/podcast/david/
Came for the Weight loss
Stayed for the continuous education
Less Migraines!!
More Energy. Mental clarity. Not hungry constantly. Better workouts. More muscle. Scoliosis pain gone -that might be the weight loss tho. Better completion. Mental cycle regular.
For the health of my teeth mainly. Sports performance. And just inflammation, constant joint pain. Who wants that?
satiated, healthy, no eczema, keeps anxiety at bay, great for teeth & .......
Not hungry all the time and my joints move without constant pain.
Peace. From cravings and addiction. With myself and Creator.
My labs results
To stay clear of Type 2 Diabetes. I don’t want to return to high blood sugar levels and low carb is the best way to achieve that.
I had bleeding gums for 6+ years and complete remission 4+ years and running.
In addition to having lost ~100lbs, with a real food keto diet & weight training, at 60 I’m the strongest, healthiest, & happiest I’ve ever been. And I’m growing me a ponytail.
Blood glucose control
Satiety, reduced joint pain and just a general feeling of well-being I guess
Normalised blood pressure and heart rate, no more IBS, GERD, anxiety, depression, insomnia and good health in general and I just simply like eating this way now.
Lower A1cHg (6.1 to 5.5) in 6 months, more energy, more alert. Have been LC for one year now (began this woe to support wife) and am eager to see next labs. Weight loss was just a side benefit, began 220 lbs and am 180 lbs now. 73 YO male.
Successfully reversed T2, HBP, fatty liver and sciatica in about 6 months. The weight loss was a bonus. I follow keto/carnivore, almost 7 years now, I will never go back, this is a lifestyle.
Less joint pain, less brain fog, more energy: not a diet but a way of life—a better one!
Feeling healthier on it vs not on it
No more depression symptoms, reversed my T2D and NAFLD, normalized BP, and just an overall good feeling.
It’s simple & cheap, fits in with our lifestyle, is totally sustainable, a very adaptable eating plan, keeps me satiated, stopped my IBS which was life affecting, helps with other former health issues, gives me energy to live my active life & has the side effect of losing weight
Consistent energy. Also I never have to think about what I’m eating depending on what I’m doing or what I’ve done in terms of fueling.
Acne went away

Meme of the day:
The initial #IMWChallenge will end on February 28, 2022
I already have the next #IMWChallenge in mind for March to build on what we have already learned. So keep it up everyone. Stay strong. The road to optimal health never ends!
Why are we doing it? For me initially it was for the Weight loss. I knew if I lost weight my lab numbers would get better. But now I keep on it for other reasons. The same reasons that we read about on your Twitter feed. I generally just feel a whole lot better than I did. That includes my energy level my thinking and way less joint pain. Like I said I just feel a whole lot better than I did. I don’t look at it as being on a diet. Because I enjoy everything that I’m eating. When I do wander off into “carb nation” I definitely feel the difference. And that difference isn’t a good one. So my plan is to make low-carb a way of life. A much better life.So thanks for educating me Dr. H. You have definitely changed my life and the quality of it.
I had started the carnivore diet about a year ago. My weight remained the same. It was not until I started adding small amounts of vegetables during this challenge that I started to lose lbs. Is it possible that men's diets are different from a women's diet?
Next the topic of COVID -like symptoms. These past 8 mos. I have had to wear a mask for long periods of time and not by choice. It takes me days to feel better afterward.
ANALOGY: Why would anyone think that sticking cotton balls up your nose and a handkerchief in your mouth, would not give you some type of breathing problems? When you cannot breath properly other parts of the body do not work well. That is my own personal experience.
