I hope everyone had a nice holiday and did not overeat too much. So building on that topic I thought I’d share some recent pics/memes that are hopefully thought provoking as you go about your days recovering from your feast and deciding what is real food vs fake food, healthy food vs garbage.
I picked on Coca Cola recently. To be fair listed above are the ingredients of a Chick Fil-A milkshake. Have you ever seen so many ingredients, especially those in red. Would you eat any of those ingredients individually?? If not perhaps you should avoid them in food “products” such as above???
Hmmm.
Think about that for a bit.
Most addictive foods are not satiating. They keep you coming back for more. Eating mostly animal foods is usually satiating and hunger and cravings decrease. It’s nice to not always be hungry.
There may be some exceptions.

Food industry science is not necessarily about healthier food but moreso about healthier and larger profits.

OJ has more carbs and calories than a Coca Cola. See, I’m not picking on Coca Cola this time.
You really should not drink your calories.
Remember this when you read or hear advice from the American Heart Association. Perhaps you should look at their sponsors before following their advice? Perhaps when it comes to your health you should always question the advice you are given, especially looking for hidden bias, especially when it comes from a healthcare or government agency.
When you follow any physician or healthcare professional without any questions, remember that physicians used to promote cigarettes. In other words, no one knows everything and you should always always question. If what seemed safe in the past is now no longer deemed as safe, perhaps what you are being told today is also not necessarily healthy or safe?

I’m tired of hearing celebrities and politicians bloviate about things they know very little about. Never walk behind a celebrity or politician as you don’t know what you might step in.

Exceptions to plant based carbohydrates? All fruits and vegetables are mostly carbohydrate. Many of them are tasty, but I’m not sure I would call them addictive. Carbohydrate is just a macronutrient. There is nothing intrinsically bad or evil about it. Healthy fats have been unnecessarily demonised to the detriment of the general public, so we should also avoid demonising healthy carbohydrates as well. Fats and carbohydrates are not the problem, it’s the highly processed variety that is the leading cause of declining health worldwide.
