On a professional level I am so very thankful for everyone who has contributed to the Institute for Medical Wellness, which I usually refer to as the IMW, dating back to when it was founded in 2008. I had many naysayers back then, saying I was destroying my practice and it would never succeed. I guess it is not always bad to be a critical thinker and occasionally a contrarian??
Back in 2007, when I was planning the transition from a solo insurance based practice to a more independent from third parties wellness based practice, I knew I would have to step it up to bring value to my community. I knew a change was needed in healthcare. I believed the healthcare system was stuck in a sick care spiral. So I worked hard every day to truly work on wellness, to create a new system of well care, to make the IMW a reality. But to make it so, I needed help.
So today let me say that I am thankful for everyone who has made the IMW what it is today. That success is due to everyone who has worked for and with the IMW. But it especially means everyone who has joined the IMW to improve their health and wellness over the years.
I am thankful to every one of you as I learn as much from all of you, just the same that I hope you learn from the IMW. Constant learning, critical thinking and having an open mind are a few items that are sorely needed in healthcare today and I hope the IMW is providing that.
My promise to you is that I will continue my journey for improved wellness, I will continue to research new, better and most importantly safer methods of improving your health. I will continue to participate in continuing my own education and yours.
I think it is time for everyone to start thinking how they can improve their health moving forward, and how the IMW can help you get there. If you have any ideas or recommendations, I am happy to hear them.
So I wish everyone a healthy and happy Thanksgiving.
Happy Thanksgiving! So grateful for you!
