I am passing this message along to everyone. If you have benefited from a Lower Carbohydrate diet and lifestyle, I am asking for your help to convince the governmental powers that presently be to include Lower Carbohydrate diets in their dietary guidelines.
If you know me well I have been a strong advocate to have Lower Carbohydrate diets used more often as I have seen so so many people improve their health, get off of or reduce medications and just overall have increased vitality that it is a crime that the government does not fairly look at all the Lower Carbohydrate diet evidence.
Please consider copying and pasting the below message from the Nutrition Coalition and sending to any one of your representatives in Congress as well as anyone you feel would be helpful in getting Lower Carbohydrate nutrition fairly evaluated and incorporated into dietary guidelines.
#LowCarbDGA Campaign for Metabolic Health
The Nutrition Coalition has launched the #LowCarbDGA Campaign for Metabolic Health to persuade the US Departments of Agriculture and Health and Human Services (USDA-HHS) to review the science about low-carbohydrate diets as part of the process of revising the nation’s dietary guidelines.
Astonishingly, the USDA_HSS currently has no intention of investigating the benefits of low-carbohydrate diets, which have helped millions of people to reverse their type 2 diabetes diagnosis, lose weight and restore metabolic health. If they decide not to explore such options, low-carb diets will not be part of the next Dietary Guidelines. This would mean that, even as diabetes and obesity rates soar to all-time highs, the government would likely continue to promote the same or similar high-carb diet that is destroying people’s metabolic health.

Thank you!
I did this the last go around and got the most crap-filled letters from state reps. But I will try again! Low-carb deserves recognition and recommendation!
The problem is that the USDA is and always has been a spokesperson for the farm industry. They always push those Midwest products(milk, grains, vegetable(seed) oils.
Here is a good overview of the situation.
