Well my 3 day Conference was shortened to 2 days, due to my ADD.
Florida Conference Day 0
So I am down in Florida for a conference in West Palm Beach. The conference starts today, Friday May 3, 2024. I was all very impressed with myself. I was all prepared. Arrived a day early to relax and get situated. Rented an AirBNB home about a 20 minute drive from the convention center. Many positives with the home. It has a nice little backyard with a…
But that’s ok. Gave me an extra chill day in the Sun which I utilized to take a nice walk and on the walk back got stuck at an open drawbridge. I guess that’s a hazard when you are close to water.
Let’s recap with some interesting things I learned.
1- Even Functional conferences presentations still seem to focus on cholesterol as evil instead of all the evolutionary advantages cholesterol provides us. I still shake my head at this every Conference I attend.
2- For those of you who have never felt the same after either a COVID infection or COVID mRNA injections, I may have found another product to help detox out more of the remaining inflammatory spike protein. More on this soon.
3- Brain metabolism as we age.
Actually Glucose metabolism as we age. If you look at the 2 colored lines, you see as Women age and move towards Perimenopause and Postmenopause, their brain’s ability to utilize Glucose for fuel diminishes. When we see this drop it’s a real wonder why the Traditional establishment still pushes carbs and the plant based mantra. Remember, Carbs turn to Glucose which just does not fuel the brain very efficiently. But ketones still fuel the brain very well and may need to be increased in Perimenopause and Postmenopause.
4- More on Menopause with this slide.
What does it say?
One in two postmenopausal women will end up with an Osteoporotic fracture.
One in three with heart disease.
One in five with a stroke or dementia.
One in eight with Breast cancer.
We can improve those odds. But not by following the traditional thought that got us here.
There were a few lecturers who understand and are promoting new thought.
5- Below is a simple? chart on why we should never focus on a single factor for any health issue.
Just look at all the different things that influence inflammation. We need to get away from the single bullet theory or the next big drug to save the world. Your health is not that simple but #BigHarma would like you to think the opposite so they can sell you more potions.
6- Here again is another simple?? slide.
It still seems like they like to look at markers of disease processes moreso than systems of disease processes. We need to fix the systems and when we do, the markers will fix themselves. It’s time to end the band aids and start to actually stop or prevent the bleeding in the first place.
When I look at the above slide, I mostly see markers of imbalanced systems along with lifestyle issues. We need more root cause thinking.
At the IMW we look at systems. The Top 4 include Metabolism, Immune/Inflammatory, Nutritional and Hormonal.
7- Dental Issues and Heart Disease.
Yes. Poor dental health can greatly increase your risk of heart disease and a whole lot more.
8- Everyone knows by now that I strongly focus on improving Metabolic Health. Just look at the pic below to understand why.
All those little circles surrounding the large circle of Metabolic Dysfunction are all correlated with Metabolic Dysfunction. CVD= Cardiovascular Disease
NAFLD= Non-Alcoholic Fatty Liver Disease— generally a precursor to Diabetes, Cirrhosis, Dementia among others if not reversed.
9- We all know the term Anti-Oxidant. Well the opposite, what we want to avoid are included in the pic below that “should” be under our control, if we choose to.
10- I’ll end for today with this slide. I’ll let you decide which you prefer and which you believe we help you most with at the IMW.
As always , comments and questions welcome.
I guess this is why I have very few friends.
Probably a good reason I greatly minimize plant foods.
Love learning how the body systems relay and affect each other - so complex.
I’d love to know more about inflammation and how to minimize it. Is inflammation important or does it serve any purpose?
What were the presentations on HRT Estradiol and Progesterone for perimenopausal and postmenopausal women? Thanks!
