I am STILL in Austin Texas at the Forum For Integrative Medicine conference, Breaking Barriers: Advancing Treatment for Complex Chronic Illness.
I STILL have NOT had my Texas BBQ meal. Maybe Saturday night…..
Today there were 7 presentations. It was actually a sunny day with high temp around 70, so I played hookey for 1 presentation as I believe I heard a similar presentation by the same speaker at a conference in December. So I took the liberty of heading out to the pool and getting some VitD. I actually did that three times. Once when I played hookey, and 2 other times at 30 minutes breaks during the day.
So now let’s get to the presentations.
We started off the day with a presentation from a neurologist Suzanne Gazda, M.D. Her presentation was titled:
“Long COVID and Post-Vaccine Injury: The Tsunami Upon Us”.
Pretty triggering title for some and I kind of expected the audience would not take to her message. Well, she actually received a standing ovation from about half the crowd. I think people are waking up. It was a terrific presentation, but not anything I haven’t already looked at and researched already. But looking around at others who may not have been aware, there were some wide eyed people who looked dumbfounded.
The next presentation was from Sabine Hazan, M.D. I’ve written about Sabine before. She is the author of the book, “Let’s Talk Shit”. She is a Gastroenterologist and researcher and doing amazing work with the Gut microbiome. Sabine treated thousands of patients during COVID and did not lose one patient. I had a chance to talk with her yesterday when she arrived at the hotel. She is a fantastic person and a true fighter for medical care. Her common phrase is “Let Dr’s be Dr’s”, meaning tell the bureaucracies to leave Dr’s alone to research and innovate so we can help patients sooner. She also gave a great presentation on how the microbiome affects our health and NOT just our gut health. She discovered that COVID and the COVID mRNA injections were killing off Bifido bacteria in our guts. Problem is that Bifido are the good guys. Bifido helps bind up inflammatory substances in the gut so they can’t cause as much trouble elsewhere. People with the lowest Bif did the worst during COVID.
#SaveTheBif
Of interest, newborns are born with lots of Bif. As we age most of us lose much of our Bif. And, you can’t just take a probiotic with Bif. Sabine did a study on 17 probiotics sold in pharmacies. Of the 17 probiotics that had Bif on their ingredient label, 16 out of the 17 did NOT contain Bif. Instead she prefers to feed the Bif with Vitamin C as well as, you ready for this, Ivermectin. She also is a fan of Immunoglobulins, yep, those things found in Colostrum, which all my Common Sense Health and Wellness readers know I am a fan of.
Sabine is also a whoot. Here are some of her words of wisdom during her presentation.
“The science of poop” - is what she researches.
“Crapsule therapy” instead of Fecal transplants, swallow a CRAPsule full of healthy crap to help heal your gut. This is not approved YET, but hopefully soon. No it does not come with breath mints…..
“I’m a big family gatherer of poop”- many people in the same family have different bacteria in their guts.
“Always be nice to your spouse. One day you may need their shit”- After her presentation, she came up to me and said that was directed at me and my wife since we spoke with her the night before.
“I’m always looking for golden poop” - Sabine is looking for people who have never had COVID or a COVID mRNA injection, in other words she is looking for purebloods, or actually purepoop for her research so she can compare purepoops to covid tainted poops.
OK, enough of this shit. Let’s discuss the next presentation.
The last presentation I will mention was from Stuart Nunnally, DDS. He is a dentist and discussed how dental issues can cause or trigger diseases outside of the mouth. He showed case studies where fixing a dental abscess or removing other toxic materials from the mouth helped resolve Plantar Fascitis, Multiple Sclerosis and Lupus. He is postulating it may also help many other disease processes. We just have to ask the questions and look.
For IMW members, before your next visit with me, please write down your dental history chronologically to the best of your ability. Such as when/if you had mercury fillings, root canals or wisdom teeth extraction. Mark down the approximate year you had those procedures and let’s see if any other health conditions arose at some point soon after, especially brain inflammatory, autoimmune or thyroid illness. He used the phrase “Leaky Teeth” to describe a mechanism of ill health that is similar to “Leaky Gut”.
Here is something to think about.
Leaky Teeth can trigger excess inflammatory signals throughout the body which can increase the risk of heart disease by 530%, or greater than 5X the baseline risk. So instead of worrying yourself about cholesterol (a non issue in my mind), perhaps focus on lowering oral/dental inflammation.
You can read more about Dr. Nunnally at www.healthysmilesforlife.com
Besides the presentations, I walked around the exhibits talking to many different companies selling their wares. They gave me lots to think about, especially about Omega 3 fish oils. So definitely ask me more about this topic when you are next at the IMW.
I will leave you with a nice view of downtown Austin from the 7th floor post lecture get together.
Questions and comments always welcome.
All very informative. But the dentist WOW. I spent the next hour going through my brain on dental history. Wait until you see what's written on that index card! LOL. A safe and pleasant journey back.
By the way, Texas BBQ ain’t as good as Tennessee BBQ. Start looking for the next conference in Nashville…..
