OK.
I have decided to start a Summer Health Challenge.
The Challenge will not be on any one specific item, but instead will focus on many different aspects of wellness.
First let me define “Wellness”.
My personal and professional definition of Wellness:
Living your life in a healthy way where as you age, you not only continue to be able to do things people younger than you can do, but also do so without the need for traditional healthcare interventions, especially prescription medications.
Ha Ha.
But it does not have to be that way. Part of the IMW Summer Challenge will be working on improving your brain health.
Now there are lots of people out there with information and knowledge. But do they know what to do with the information?
My goal is to use my professional health and wellness experience, along with the experiences of everyone taking part in the challenge, to connect the dots to improved health.
At my office, the Institute for Medical Wellness (IMW), we always try to improve the health of our members while at the same time removing or de-prescribing prescription medications. This almost always requires diet and lifestyle changes that suit your individual health goals. But it also means learning about what makes your body work at its best.
So again, my IMW Summer Challenge to all of you is to take part in this challenge to improve your health.
There are some requirements.
You do your best to follow along the substack Challenge posts I will be publishing here on Common Sense Health and Wellness.
You do your best to institute as much of the many different challenges I will be presenting.
You do your best to ask many questions in the comments section so you can get the most out of the challenge.
You do your best to comment and/or answer questions others pose, as your life and health experience just may help others as well.
The Challenge will be open only to Paid subscribers. Before anyone gets upset, a paid subscription is only $5/month or $50/year. I dare you to try and find a Summer Health Challenge with a better return on investment than that.
All paid subscribers also get a 25% discount on all Fullscript nutritional supplements thru the Institute for Medical Wellness as long as you are a paid subscriber. If you use high quality supplements, the discount will most likely save you more than the $5/m paid subscription.
Some topics that will most likely be part of the Summer Challenge.
Healthy diets including Paleo, Low Carb, Keto and Carnivore. Yes you can be plant based and still take part as diet is just one aspect of the IMW Summer Challenge.
Improving Metabolic health to reverse Obesity, Overweight, Dyslipidemia, High Blood Pressure, Heart Disease and Cancer
Improving Gut Health
Improving Immune Health
Improving Autoimmune issues
Improving Brain Health
Improving your physique, adding muscle and removing excess fat
Insulin Resistance
Detoxification
Recipes and Food pics to see how good healthy food is easy to prepare and enjoy
Improving Sleep
The importance of Sunshine
There may be other topics as well. If we really get the comments and chat room discussion going there may be many more topics.
So while the IMW Summer Challenge will begin the 1st week of July, if you are going to participate, I encourage you to join the challenge now by becoming a paid subscriber. The more people taking part in the Challenge, the more motivated I will be to put out health and wellness content.
If you are already a paid subscriber to Common Sense Health and Wellness, thank you, and you are already included in the IMW Summer Challenge, should you choose to participate.
FYI: The IMW Summer Challenge is your own personal challenge. I encourage you to write down what you want to get out of the challenge so near the end you can see if you moved towards your goals. Remember you are not competing with anyone. You are only working to learn as much as possible to continually improve your health while slowing down the aging process.
Maybe you know someone who would like to participate in the IMW Summer Challenge. Consider giving them a gift subscription to improve their health?
That’s enough for today.
As always comments and questions encouraged.
Looking forward to it!
I’m in.
